Polymer clay is a versatile medium. Because of the wide variety of techniques and color ranges we can make endless designs. Studs are all time favourite. Most often people face a threat , why I called threat because it can lead to customer disatisfaction. Lot of complaints I see online like the stud post is falling off over time or during shipping . Sigh...
Usually what we do is Super glue ( E6000 , Gorilla glue etc ) stud post on back of cured art piece of clay. It loosen up eventually. What's the solution ?
Either you should use 2 part Epoxy Resin . Cindy Lietz was showing one old earrings that still holds up the stud .
Or you have to cover the metal post with another piece of clay and bake again.

In our second tutorial we are using the SWIRL cane slices.
Feel free to check my youtiube tutorial or previous blog post to build this basic cane.

Hope everyone staying safe though keeping social distancing strictly you can enjoy the summer. If you have a lot of time try this beautiful technique. Its like an art therapy to get rid of boredom and stress.
First we have to make the #Bargello veneer out of small strips of clay. For that make a striped veneer initially and then cut and arrange in the pattern as shown the tutorial.
I directly took the colored clay out of package. Mix each of these solid colors with white and use for more ombre rainbow bargello. The more colors, the prettier the veneer would be.
Colors & Patterns
For this , you don't need much tools. To make a bangle or cuff you can use a glass jar or soda can instead of ready made metal form. Watch the video demo below to learn this technique which is suitable for inter mediate level.
Will you make this cuff ? Better for covering surfaces or Making bowls too . Which is your preference ? Comment it .

We all buy some canned food or condensed milk . Do you throw your tins or upcycle them ?
I won't thrash it . Just recycle into tool organizer . You can cover the tins with cloth / form sheet / clay / paper mache etc.
This one I covered in crackled veneer, Decorated with poinsettia flowers , stones and confetti .
As I made these during Christmas time , chose to be in Christmas theme ie, Poinsettias , Red , Green, white and gold tones preferably. For extra dramatic look Red- Green Confetties glued with E6000.
MATERIALS :
POLYMER CLAY - White , transluscent , red , green ( Sea glass )
METAL LEAF - Gold or Silver
Premade Leaf Canes
Rhine Stones - 4
Confetti as needed
Bake Bond
Wavy & FlexibleBlade
Kemp Cutter
Oven
Oven Thermometer
Fine Grit Sand Papers
E6000 ( any super glue)
Transluscent layer should be very very thin, the reason I use Transluscent clay everytime with foils or metal leaf is just to protect from peeling off over time. Otherwise you can coat with resin. After covering the White - Gold layer I added few Flowers and some ruffles / laces of clay. Wavy blade and kemp cutter to make lace, while red ruffles topped the sharp open rim.
Hope These Pictures will help you.

After Curing on a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes at 275 F , allow to cool. Sand with Fine sand papers to remove cloudiness . The metal flakes will see through the transluscent layer with nice sheen.
Then I super glued confetties / Rhine stones in center for added interest.
