RECYCLE TIN - POLYMER CLAY MIXED MEDIA CADDY

We all buy some canned food or condensed milk . Do you throw your tins or upcycle them ?
I won't thrash it . Just recycle into tool organizer . You can cover the tins with cloth / form sheet / clay / paper mache etc.
This one I covered in crackled veneer, Decorated with poinsettia flowers , stones and confetti .
As I made these during Christmas time , chose to be in Christmas theme ie, Poinsettias , Red , Green, white and gold tones preferably. For extra dramatic look Red- Green Confetties glued with E6000.

MATERIALS :

POLYMER CLAY - White , transluscent , red , green ( Sea glass )
METAL LEAF - Gold or Silver
Premade Leaf Canes
Rhine Stones - 4
Confetti as needed
Bake  Bond
Wavy & FlexibleBlade
Kemp Cutter
Oven
Oven Thermometer
Fine Grit Sand Papers
E6000 ( any super glue)

Transluscent layer should be very very thin, the reason I use Transluscent clay everytime with foils or metal leaf is just to protect from peeling off over time. Otherwise you can coat with resin. After covering the White - Gold layer I added few Flowers and some ruffles / laces of clay. Wavy blade and kemp cutter to make lace, while red ruffles topped the sharp open rim.

Hope These Pictures will help you.

After Curing on a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes at 275 F , allow to cool. Sand with Fine sand papers to remove cloudiness . The metal flakes will see through the transluscent layer with nice sheen.

Then I super glued confetties / Rhine stones in center for added interest.

Hope you will try one. You can add your favourite flowers or other media.  Please tag me on instagram / Facebook . Love ya all ...
Have a Great time.
